Making Point-of-Care Diagnostics Accessible Across Africa
Ultrascan Technologies was born from clinical frustration and a belief that every patient deserves access to real-time diagnostic imaging - regardless of where they are seen.

Dr. Yahya Docrat
Dr. Yahya Docrat is a practising South African clinician who founded Ultrascan Technologies after experiencing first-hand the diagnostic gap that exists when portable, affordable ultrasound is unavailable.
Working in both private and public healthcare settings, he watched colleagues make difficult clinical decisions without real-time imaging - not because the technology did not exist, but because it was priced out of reach for most African practitioners.
Determined to change this, Dr. Docrat partnered with Beijing Konted Medical Technology - a leading wireless POCUS manufacturer - to become their authorised South African distributor. The goal was simple: bring hospital-grade wireless probes to clinicians who could not previously justify the cost of traditional cart-based systems.
Today, Ultrascan Technologies serves clinicians across South Africa spanning nine specialties, with a growing presence across the African continent.

"I started Ultrascan because I believe every clinician should be able to look inside their patient - not just the ones with access to hospital radiology departments."
